PHI THETA KAPPA

Greetings.

I'm very mellow right now. I'm excited at the same time. I know that sounds impossible.

General synopsis of my day:

6:30am: Ignored the alarm
6:45am: Continued to Ignore the alarm
7:00am: Woke up in a fluster and rushed around trying to get out the door quickly....
8:27am: Got to school with coffee and doughnut
8:37am: Printed my paper for World Lit [Dr. Kelley]
8:50am: Walked into class
8:57am: Found out the paper wasn't due until Tuesday via gracious extension of deadline!
10:15am: Class break. Coffee run.....
12:05pm: Walked into the office and signed in.
12:15-5:05pm: Workstudy... need I say more....
5:15pm: Rushed over to F building to get ready for Induction ceremony
5:45pm: Realized I was done too early with time to waste unitl Induction ceremony
5:56pm: Walked leisurely to library and returned books
5:58pm: Promptly sat down @ a computer to type this blog post. ;)

I'm being inducted tonight, in exactly 59 minutes, into Phi Theta Kappa which is an honors society with a chapter on my campus. Much to my amazement. I was so thrilled when I got the email that I was nominated! So exciting, right. It seems so much has dropped into my lap this semester. My mother would argue differently, saying I have worked hard. But I had no idea this was coming, nor was I aiming for it. It just happened. Oh, but I'm thankful!!

Miles and Miles

Stretch forth your ear,
right there, yes.
A mile then bridged,
a mile then reached.
Leap on and bound
into this speech.
Lay within time,
so stand on mortality
We do so daily, so
without we cannot fathom
due to present frailty.
Beknownst to One is the
measurement
And lone to none to capture,
a feat far too treacherous
for common beings to master.
Fret not you know-monogers,
a truth yet exists,
that ye shall soon fly to where
time is not missed.
Flown on for miles and miles,
a soul has yet to reach
Beyond a fairly far stretch
which to measure none can teach.
A bolder spirit may be cans't thou
coddle to reach such sacred a goal,
and bring to light which paths to take
that can seem dark as coal.
Miles and miles are what we can
for fault of human flaw
conveniently understand.
But have no doubt a longer span
is still yet unknown to man.

Reason/Inspiration

I was inspired by a discussion I had to day in my last class for World Lit [tear] about Paradise Lost by John Milton. It stretched my already wide grasp of reality and I'm always greatful for that. It concerend alot of talk of time and how it is not relative or well... I forgot the exact words, but I know there are two types of  "forever" now. And well... yeah...

Closing/Future

In closing, I know it may be hard to understand. I do feel like I may have been rambling. But I wanted it to be good and long. I haven't written one in a while. In the future, like next week, is the last week of school and therefore last week of finals! And I am excyted!! Wish me the best.

God Bless. :D
